CENTRE FOUR HOCKEY LEAGUE PLAYOFF SCHEDULE 2009
THIS MEMO AND ALL EXAMPLES OF DRAWS AND DEADLINES WILL BE
ON THE INTERNET SITE.
PROVINCIAL
LEAGUE PLAYOFF REPRESENTATIVE ROUND
1. Top eight teams in each division make
provincial playoffs.
2. Each series shall consist of two games, total
goals to count. Both dates must be set
before the start of the series. The final series to determine the provincial
league rep may
be a best of three playoff if both teams mutually
agree. The team finishing in the top
position in league play shall have the choice of playing the
first playoff game at home.
3. Each round
to determine the provincial league rep; the top half chooses from the bottom
half according to the final league standings.
4. GAME
OFFICIALS: As per our constitution
(Article 5 K) the home team is responsible for
assigning officials for all playoff games. If
neutral officials are required, this must be
done 96 hours before start of series and team requesting neutral
officials is responsible for
payment of their fee and mileage. If mutually agreed upon, official costs are
the
responsibility of home teams.
5. The first round of playoffs is to determine
our league rep to enter into SHA playoffs
against Saskatoon or South Sask. League Rep. The
playoffs are run by the league,
not SHA. Game sheets are to be faxed to Dale and then
mailed to Bruce.
6. The remainder of the playoffs after losing
on the A side is to determine who will
advance to the
league championship round.
GENERAL
INFORMATION FOR PROVINCIAL AND LEAGUE PLAYOFFS
- All playoff deadlines
must be adhered to. Teams playing
past playoff deadlines without permission will be fined $250.00 each. THERE SHALL BE NO PLAYOFF GAMES SCHEDULED IN THE
BANTAM DIVISION BETWEEN FEBRUARY 19 AND 22
AND IN THE MIDGET DIVISION BETWEEEN FEBRUARY 26 AND MARCH 1.
- The teams involved in
each playoff series must agree to the dates, times and locations of their
respective games before contacting the President with the
information. The League President
must be notified by fax /e-mail of all game dates and times in
series before series starts. If
there is no agreement, the President will schedule the series with dates,
times and locations of his choosing and each team will be fined $100.00.
- When only two teams are
involved in a series, dates must be finalized by Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.
- For the final league
playoff format to determine the league championship, each series shall
consist of two (2) games, total goals to count. The semi-finals may be a best of 3
playoffs if both teams mutually agree.
The final series in each division shall be a best of 3 playoffs. The team finishing in the top position
shall have the choice of playing the first playoff game at home.
- For each round, the top
half chooses from the bottom half according to the final league standings.
- If neutral officials
are requested, this must be done 96
hours before start of series and team requesting neutral officials is
responsible for payment of their fee and mileage. If mutually agreed upon, official costs
are the responsibility of home teams.
- The league President
must be notified of game results by the winning team upon completion of
the series.
- Game sheets are to be
mailed to Bruce within 24 hours. Please
fax a copy to Dale as well as he posts the scores on the internet.
- Please refer to the
Centre Four Hockey League Constitution – Rules of Play, regarding teams
forfeiting a playoff series or failing to return a playoff game in a league
series and use of minor officials, especially regarding the goal judges.
