Semi - Annual Meeting:  April 6, 2008                            Shellbrook High School

Bruce called the meeting to order at 10:10.  Bruce introduced himself as President and Shirley Tomporowski as Secretary-Treasurer and welcomed everyone from the centres. All centers were represented.  An explanation of the voting procedure was given.

Shirley moved the minutes from last fall.  Kindersley seconded.  Cd .   Bruce informed all that he had touched base with  Saskatoon and they will stay communicating and may have more discussion after the SHA meeting.  Some issues to be dealt with are the communication when it comes to provincial play off time and the setting of dates.  There is a possibility of interlocking play on a weekend as a tournament format.  Communication within your centre is very important.

A consensus as to who would be in the league in 2008-09 was taken and Tisdale was unsure of a team in Midget and Kindersley and Rosetown are having discussions about amalgamation and likely will let us know by the end of June.

Bruce presented an application from Moosomin to have a team in the Pee Wee and Bantam Division.  Discussion was held.  Meadow Lake moved and Battleford  2nd that Moosomin be in the league.  Defeated

Kindersley made a presentation to come back in the Pee Wee Division for the 2008-2009 season.  Discussion was held.  Prince Albert moved  2nd by Humboldt that Kindersley be allowed into the Pee Wee Division.  Carried.

Unity made a presentation to join the Bantam league.  Discussion was held.  Beardys moved 2nd by Prince Albert that Unity be allowed into the Bantam Division for the 2008 -2009 season.  Carried

Bruce made a presentation on Lloydminster’s behalf to join the Midget League.  Discussion was held.  Parkland moved and Humboldt seconded that Lloydminster be allowed into the league for the 2008-2009 season.  Carried.

Welcome  to all teams and please bring your $500.00 bond fee to the annual meeting on Sept. 14, 2008.

To date we have 10 teams in Pee Wee, 12 teams in Bantam and 14 teams in Midget.

Shirley moved the financial statement.  Seconded  by  Rosetown.  We will present a proposed budget in the fall.  Cd.

Bruce, finishing his 11th year as President, reported that this was a very tough year due to unnecessary arguments between team personnel.  There should be no condescending remarks made to other team’s players.  Decisions are made so they are best for the league as we are here for the kids and the game is to be decided on the ice.  We will not accept unacceptable displays by coaches and team personnel.  If there is blatant abuse you will be fined and suspended. Compliments go out to the Midgets as very few complaints from them and not a lot of penalty matters to deal with.  Thank you to team managers and Robin Harper and Dale Willick.  Congratulations to Humboldt Pee Wee and Bantams and Prince Albert Midgets on winning the league titles.  Congratulations to Warman Bantams on winning Provincials and competing in Westerns.

Please read all memos you receive and send qualified people to the scheduling meeting.  Bruce will suggest the deletion of goal judges at the fall meeting.  Referees will not be neutral but will be appointed.  You must learn to adapt to what the referee is calling.  As to the age they need to be for Pee Wee, Bruce will look into it and get back to all at the fall meeting.  Remember you are committed to the league and tournaments should not be scheduled during playoffs.

If someone wants to change the league scheduling or provincial play-off format or any proposed amendments to the constitution please submit to Bruce by August 18, 2008.
